COMMENTS: This elegant engagement ring dates to the Art Deco period, 1920’s to 1930’s. The nice quality European cut round cut diamond is set in luxuriant 18k white gold. The setting offers delicate accent diamonds, most commonly know as single cut diamonds. Single cut diamonds only have 7-8 facets but are extremely glittery. The total carat weight of all the diamonds in the ring is 0.48ctw. The setting has lovely hand tooled and hand pierced details at every angle of the ring. The manufacture of the setting named the design on this ring “Rose Garland. This would make an excellent choice for an engagement ring today. This vintage ring will touch your heart and soul with its timeless beauty. There’s something magical about jewelry from another era, with its own story to tell.
The Art Deco Period, which began around 1920 and ended about 1935, produced brilliant jewelry which was in contrast to the jewelry of the previous periods. The emphasis shifted from soft colors and flowing lines to bold, bright colors and straight lines. Women cut their long hair and began wearing it short and boyish. This was the era of jazz and flappers! Art Deco jewelry complimented the flamboyant and playful attitude of the day and remains a favorite of collectors today.
