COMMENTS: This bypass ring displays emerald and princess faceted natural Emerald gemstones measuring .30 and .47 carats respectively. The emeralds are prong set with bezel set diamond accents. The rectangle emerald has a common surface inclusion across the top of the stone. It is not cracked and does not go all the way through the stone. Both Emeralds are well matched in color and saturation with nice transparency and lovely desirable “garden of inclusions”. Crafted of 14k gold, the ring has a modernist square shank. Circa 1980’s. Pictured as received from a local estate. Very good estate condition with minimal wear indicative of age. This will polish to as new if desired at no additional cost.
The name emerald finds its root in a Sanskrit word, marakata, meaning the green of growing things. We embrace this hue at the height of spring! Birthstone for those born in May. Emerald symbolizes vitality, honesty, and fidelity and is the traditional gift for 20th, 35th and 55th wedding anniversaries.
Folklore suggests that emerald gemstones will improve memory, intelligence, and enhance clairvoyance thus helping to predict future events. They are also thought to enhance love and contentment.
