COMMENTS: Crafted of 14k yellow and white gold, this gemstone ring features lovely pinkish red spinel with white topaz accents. The spinel measure approximately .25 carat each and are securely prong set giving the ring a four-leaf clover-like design. In the center of the spinels is a colorless/white topaz which also accent the shoulders of the ring. The topaz on the shoulders are set in heart cutouts. Spinel belongs to the cubic crystal system and its characteristic crystal shape is an octahedron, which looks like two back-to-back pyramids. Like ruby, spinel is found in alluvial deposits; it ranks 8 on the Mohs scale and has good toughness, making it a durable gem for jewelry. Spinel is associated with the root Chakra, making it effective in increasing physical energy and stamina. It seems spinel also has an effect on mental stamina as it is said to reduce forgetfulness and boost intellectual power. Circa 1980’s. Pictured as received from a local estate.
